Moving Image Studios announces the launch of its
upcoming nonfiction show, The Ward, a first-of-its-kind reality format that
gently explores the emotional, psychological, and social realities of
motherhood. Hosted by acclaimed actor and new mother Rubina Dilaik, the show is
set to premiere on May 15 on The Little Adda Company’s YouTube channel.
The Ward brings together 10 pregnant women under
one roof for 10 days, capturing their journeys as they stand on the cusp of
motherhood. Set within a thoughtfully designed maternity ward environment, the
show offers an intimate and unfiltered glimpse into their thoughts, emotions,
and evolving relationships during this deeply transformative phase.
Coming from diverse walks of life, these women
gradually form meaningful connections as they open up about their personal
experiences — from societal expectations and gender biases to career
aspirations and changing family dynamics as they step into motherhood. Known
for her impactful television journey, Rubina Dilaik steps into the role of
host, bringing with her a sense of empathy and authenticity that makes her a
natural fit for the show.
The participants’ partners and families also become
a part of this shared journey — learning, understanding, and growing alongside
them, while strengthening bonds through empathy and support. With
round-the-clock observation, expert medical care, and immersive storytelling,
The Ward captures the raw, honest, and heartfelt moments of motherhood in a way
rarely seen before.
At the center of it all is Rubina Dilaik, who steps
in not just as a host, but as a compassionate presence — engaging with the
women through conversations, sharing her own experiences, and creating space
for reflection. As a new mother herself, Rubina brings emotional depth and
relatability, often becoming a confidante and a reassuring voice for the
participants and their families.
Rubina recently unveiled the poster of the show on her social media. Speaking about The Ward, she shared, “Becoming a mother has been the most transformative and emotional journey of my life — it’s beautiful, but also overwhelming in ways no one truly prepares you for. Motherhood feels like an emotional rebirth; it changes you in ways you can only understand once you live it. As a new mother, I connected instantly with The Ward because it reflects so many of these unspoken feelings we often keep within ourselves. This is also my first time hosting a reality show, and I can honestly say it’s going to be a rollercoaster of emotions for everyone watching. Being a part of this show — it felt like reliving and sharing a part of my own journey, and that’s what makes this so incredibly close to my heart.”
Produced by Moving Image Studios, created by
Anirban Bhattacharjee, and directed by Tushar Joshi, The Ward aims to open up
more honest and heartfelt conversations around pregnancy and motherhood through
a format that is both engaging and deeply relatable.
The show will stream on The Little Adda Company’s
YouTube channel.
