This Sikandar cannot rise

Cast: Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Smita Patil, Kajal Agarwal, Sharman Joshi, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, Sanjay Kapoor, Nawab Shah

Director : AR Murugadoss

Music: Pritam

Director AR Murugadoss, also credited for the story, disappoints big time despite having a novel idea, that of organ donation, on his hands. The execution and the performances are shockingly awful thus making the film a total yawn. The film hardly has any seeti-maar dialogues going by the massy formula and also hardly any interaction (read confrontation) between the hero and the villain. The only worthwhile scene is Salman Khan's seeti-maar entry. Right after that, the film falls like a pack of cards. The editing seems awry as scenes appear to have been chopped off, hence the jarring loopholes in the screenplay, making the film substandard.

A man with the heart of gold, a good samaritan is what the King of Rajkot, Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan) is when he beats up the Home Minister's (Sathyaraj) son Arjun (Prateik) while the latter was outraging the modesty of a woman in the flight during which the passengers are requested to fasten their seat-belts due the turbulence (happening in the business class). Sanjay is also fondly called Sikandar and Raja Saab and is happily married to Saisri (Rashmika). Meanwhile, the Home Minister orders a cop Prakash (Kishore), to arrest Sanjay, but the attempts turn futile. Thenm in a shocking turn of events, Sanjay is forced to move to Mumbai which is the Home Minister's territory.

Performances: Rashmika Mandanna is the best thing in the film. She looks stunning but sadly has a limited screen time. Sathyaraj is over-the-top and disappointing. Prateik Smita Patil hams. Sharman Joshi (as Amar, the aide of Sanjay), Kishore, and Jatin Sarna (as taxi driver De Niro) are wasted. What were they doing in the film? The same goes for Sanjay Kapoor (Sriram) and Nawab Shah (Virat Bakshi). Kajal Agarwal as Vaidehi is just about okay. And lastly as Sikandar, Salman Khan is the biggest disappointment of all. He can hardly move, talk and seems absolutely disinterested in the proceedings. The way he has been going for the last few years, he may end up sabotaging and finishing a lot of people's film careers.

Music director Pritam, credited as Music Maestro gives decent tracks, the best being 'Zohra Jabeen'. Even 'Bam Bam Bhole' is quite foot-tapping.

A word of advice for Bhai - Please take a break and give some respite to your loyal supporters. The way you are going, the beginning of the end is very near.
