To felicitate all the National Award winners from Bengal till date in the field of cinema, Angel’s Creation has come up with the concept of Banglar Jatiyo Gourav. This is the first time such a concept has been thought of in the Indian film industry as all National Awardees have never been felicitated by any organization or any state government. Such a unique ceremony will be held at a prestigious venue in Kolkata on February 26 evening where National Award winners like Kaushik Ganguly, Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Churni Ganguly, Mithun Chakraborty among others will be honoured for their immense contribution to cinema.
Singer Imon
Chakraborty says: "I'm really happy to receive this felicitation. I think
I'm the youngest Bengali to receive the National Award so sharing the stage
with the other legendary awardees will be of great pride and dignity for me."
Director Ram Kamal
Mukherjee said, “This is a unique effort to recognise talents. As Indians we
feel great to receive national recognition for our work, but when recognition
comes from your home state, it holds a place of nostalgia. Such events will
encourage state talents to perform better at the national level."
The person behind
the concept Sangita Sinha says: “’Amar Sonar Bangla’, this song written by
Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore is in the heart of every Bengali. Bengal is
a place of great pride. How many expatriate Bengalis live in foreign
countries, but somewhere within themselves, they have kept Bengal alive. Such
is the illusion of the soil of Bengal. We thank those who have brought our
beloved Bengal to a different height not only in India but also in the whole
world. Those people who have made Bengal shine like a star in the sky of
the whole world with their talent and tireless work in various fields, are the
pride of every Bengali. They are our national pride. May we as
Bengalis give them the respect they deserve for this contribution. We
intend that their name should be remembered forever in the mind of every
Bengali.”
