What to Expect: The production reimagines the
eternal verses of Mirza Ghalib through the expressive language of Kathak,
tracing the emotional landscapes of love, longing, and transcendence that
define Ghalib’s work. Inspired by Gulzar’s celebrated TV series and the evocative
ghazals of Begum Akhtar, Ashimbandhu immersed himself in the poet’s universe,
learning Urdu and collaborating with Janab Haider Ali Khan to honour every
nuance. The result is a seamless weaving of dance, narration, music, and
poetry, offering audiences a deeply immersive experience.
