The Bollywood Music Project, a
grand musical festival that music lovers eagerly look forward to every year,
was recently held in style. Every year, several renowned singers and musicians
get a chance to perform here. This year, alongside musical giants like Shankar
Mahadevan, Farhan Akhtar, Shaan, Ehsaan, Anu Malik, and Salim–Sulaiman
Merchant, singer Abhijeet Sawant was also a part of this musical extravaganza.
This year’s festival became even
more special and memorable because of Abhijeet Sawant’s soulful performance and
timeless songs. Ever since winning hearts on Indian Idol, Abhijeet continues to
charm audiences wherever he performs — and this event was no exception.
During his performance, Abhijeet
presented many songs from his 20-year-long musical journey. Along with Hindi
and Marathi tracks, he recreated the magic of his evergreen hits. From the
youth-favorite “Mohabbatein Lutaunga” to the Marathi classic “Sar Sukhachi
Shravani,” his performance was a treat for the audience.
On this grand Bollywood stage,
Abhijeet not only performed in Hindi but also sang a Marathi song — winning the
hearts of non-Marathi listeners as well. By performing “Sar Sukhachi Shravani,”
he proudly represented his Marathi roots and proved that music transcends
language.
Speaking about his experience,
Abhijeet said "This stage is truly huge — audiences here include everyone
from kids to youth, all listening and watching us with so much enthusiasm.
Performing songs they love is not just our duty, but also a way to give them a
nostalgic experience. Even though this is the Bollywood Music Project, I felt
it was important to include a Marathi song for my fans. It was amazing to see
even non-Marathi people responding so warmly to Sar Sukhachi Shravani. It
proves that art has no language"
Today’s youth may listen to
hip-hop, remixes, and DJ music, but festivals like this help them reconnect
with original, timeless songs — and that makes me happy.”
When a Marathi artist shares the
stage with so many legendary musicians, it’s indeed a proud moment for every
Marathi person. As Abhijeet Sawant completes 20 years in the music industry, he
continues to surprise fans with his versatile and trending performances,
staying true to his roots while evolving with the times.
