Father’s Day is more than just a
date on the calendar—it’s a heartfelt reminder of the love, guidance, and
strength that fathers bring into our lives. As the world prepares to celebrate
this special day, celebrities take a walk down memory lane, recalling cherished
moments spent with their fathers. From childhood trips to life-changing lessons
in resilience, discipline, and compassion, these stars open up about the
invaluable role their fathers have played in shaping who they are today.
Neel Samarthh:
One of my favourite childhood
memories with my father is our Sunday routine. He would take my brother and me
out on his old Priya scooter, buy us dahi jalebi, and then we’d come back home
and watch Ramayan together as a family. Looking back, I can proudly say that my
father never let us feel the absence of anything. He worked tirelessly to give
us a beautiful life — sacrificing his sleep, his peace of mind, and his own
comfort just to make sure all our wishes were fulfilled. If there’s one thing
I’ve truly learned from him, it’s this: no matter how tough life gets, never
give up. His strength, his resilience, and his quiet confidence continue to
inspire me. Even today, I often find myself wishing I had even 10 percent of
the unshakable confidence my father carries within him.
Aadesh Chaudhary:
Father's Day holds immense
significance for me as it's a day to express gratitude and appreciation for the
love, support, and guidance my father has provided throughout my life. It's an
opportunity to celebrate his influence and acknowledge the sacrifices he's made
for our family. Some of my best memories with my father include spending
quality time together, whether it's playing sports, going on trips, or simply
having conversations about life. His wisdom, patience, and encouragement have
shaped many of my cherished memories. One of the biggest learnings from my dad
is the importance of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. He taught me to
stay grounded, be honest, and never give up on my dreams. These values have
become a part of my daily life, and I strive to embody them in everything I do.
Shivangi Verma:
One of my favourite childhood
memories with my dad is sitting on the scooter with him and going out for ice
cream. It was such a small thing, but it meant the world to me. I felt so safe
and happy just being with him. He always made time for me, no matter how busy
he was. The one thing I’ve learnt from him is to never give up. He’s the most
hardworking and patient person I know. He always tells me, “No matter how tough
things get, stay strong and keep going.” That strength and calmness I’ve seen
in him has shaped me into who I am today.
Riddhima Sharma:
I don’t believe that love for a
father should be limited to just one day. For me, every day is Father’s Day. I
share the best bond with my father, and being his daughter is my greatest joy.
I celebrate our relationship every single day. One of my favorite memories is
from his birthday on August 15th. I was in Delhi, and I gave him a surprise by
decorating his car. I asked him to close his eyes, and when he saw the
surprise, he got very emotional. We have so many beautiful memories together. I
love his sense of humor—he’s always teasing me and making me laugh. Whenever we
go to parties or the club together, he always keeps an eye on me, and I keep
mine on him—that’s what I call true protection, love, and care. He is my
real-life hero—not just for me, but for everyone. I honor him by being proud of
him every day. He always tells me, ‘Beta, become someone people want to take a
picture with. Before any profession, be a good human being.’ That advice has
stayed with me forever. These are not just words to her but a principle she
strives to live by every day. I always try to be kind to everyone, no matter
how rude someone may be. Kindness is something I live by, thanks to him.
Palash Dutta:
I was born in the 1970s, a time
untouched by the constant buzz of social media. Back then, love was expressed
differently. We didn’t wait for a special day. We showed our feelings in small,
meaningful ways—handwritten notes, cards we drew ourselves, thoughtful little
gifts. That was our celebration. There was nothing performative about it. My
father has been living in the United States for nearly 25 years now. The
physical distance and time zones created space between us, but our emotional
bond never faded. There were no specific days or grand gestures through which I
could express my love for him. But I’ve always known, deep within me, that he’s
been the unshakable backbone of our family. Watching him, learning from him—it
shaped who I am. Discipline, willpower, and honesty weren’t just values he
taught me; they became the very foundation of how I live my life. From him,
I’ve learned what it means to be resilient, to never give up, to treat everyone
with love and compassion. If there’s one legacy I want to carry forward, it’s
this: to be a man of principles, to uphold dignity and integrity, and most
importantly, to stay self-reliant, especially in the face of
adversity.
Indraxi Kanjilal:
My father has always been there
for us—steadfast and dependable—just like a tree that offers shade without
asking for anything in return. I have so many cherished memories with my
parents. As a family, we used to travel during the summer holidays when I was
in school, and those trips are etched in my heart as some of the happiest
times. Recently, I had the chance to travel with both my parents again, and we
made some wonderful new memories. One of my absolute favorite things is
watching a film together and then going out to eat—it’s such a simple joy, but
it means the world to me. I still remember the day I got my first paycheck—I
bought something for my father with it. That moment, that gesture, holds a very
special place in my heart. From him, I’ve learned what it means to be mentally
strong. He’s a man of deep principles and remarkable punctuality. These
values—being disciplined, staying true to what’s right, and living with
integrity—are the lessons I carry with me every day, all because of him.
