Rating: 4/5

The best thing about Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is that it holds your attention with its gripping tale and the number of surprises that it springs at various times during the course of its 140 minutes duration. Directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K Thompson & Kemp Powers stylishly & effectively powers their way to make it simple. Plus the Indian connection is also one of its many surprises that will be loved by all.

Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) is yet to come to terms with the death of her close friend Peter Parker in Earth 65. Plus her cop-father George (Whigham) is after Spider-Woman who he thinks has killed Peter but is unaware that his daughter is the Spider-Woman whom he is after. Knowing the truth he wants to arrest her. While fighting a monster one day, Gwen accidentally comes face to face with Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac) who is a Spider-Man from another universe. They are then joined by a pregnant Spider-Woman Jessica Drew (Issa Rae) from another universe who informs them that there is another monster from another universe and when the collider opened many monsters had jumped from one universe to another. Miguel has a watch that can make him invisible and that makes him travel from one universe to another. Parallelly in Earth 1610 Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) who continues to save the city as Spider-Man comes face to face with the arch-villain Spot (Jason Schwartzman) and with Miles realising that Spot is not what he seems they come together to outwit Spot.

Multiple Spidermen from across multiple universes come together for the common cause to fight the enemy.

The voiceovers are excellent with each one holding their own. Special mention must be made of Karan Soni who gives the voice of the Indian Spider-Man Pavitr Prabhakar.

A treat that is not to be missed.
