The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB organised a webinar on "Productivity, Green Growth, and Sustainability: Celebrating India’s G-20 Presidency" as a part of the Celebration of National Productivity Week (February 12-18 2023) on February 17. The theme was: 'Productivity, Green Growth and Sustainability: Celebrating India’s G-20 Presidency'.
Manish Chandra Vinay, Deputy Director (Industrial Engineering), National Productivity Council, Kolkata was the guest speaker of the programme and it was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of MAKAUT, Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra. The purpose was to draw everybody’s focus on increasing quality, efficiency and competitiveness levels in various sectors of the country’s economy and help India emerge as a global leader.
In addition to this, the day also promotes the idea of productivity as an “evolving concept”, which not only focuses on increasing production but also takes into account issues related to the environment, quality, human resource development, etc.
