Who you wanna call?
Cast: Katrina Kaif, Ishaan, Siddhant

Rating: 3*
Two Fukrey Ghostbusters Major and Guru are
crazily into ghosts and spirits since their childhood. So much so that as
adults their room is full of ghastly posters (read Ramsay Brothers, Jaani
Dushman, etc) and the demonic statue Raaka (whom they had unearthed from the debris
of a film studio). All their ideas fail regarding their ‘ghost business’. One
day they host a ‘Moksh Party’ where they encounter one such ghost, Ragini, who
informs them that they have a special gift of seeing dead people. She gives
them a business idea of starting a phone line for the people who want to get
rid of ‘pret aatmas’.
At first they relent but when their
respective fathers arrive at their doorstep and demand Rs. 5 crore spent on
them till date, Guru and Major are left with no options but to heed Ragini’s
advice. But they are still not convinced as to why Ragini wants to help them.
Despite getting heavily trolled initially, Guru and Major’s business start
soaring after they start solving cases. But they get into the bad books of the
evil tantric Atmaram who is in the business of trapping ghosts to attain moksh
himself.
As Ragini it’s good to see Katrina Kaif
after a long time. She does her fun part well though all that botox has changed
her face and not for the better! Ishaan as Galileo Parthasarathy aka Guru has
an edge over Siddhant Chaturvedi who essays the role of Sherdill Shergill aka
Major, but both show confidence despite going overboard. The best is reserved
for Jackie Shroff as Atmaram (his dialogue in the climax regarding Hero is sure
to be lapped up by the audience). He revels in this comedy but looks very weak
in his bare rather saggy body avatar. The other person who is hilariously funny
is Sheeba Chadha as the chudail. The Fukrey trio of Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma
and Manjot Singh appears briefly and in a miss-if-you-blink appearance
Divyendu. Armaan Ralhan is in a special appearance.
There are references galore in the film -
Rajnikant, Fukrey, Katrina’s Aam-Sutra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, K3G, Koi Mil
Gaya, Hindustani and not to forget in the pre-credits scene in the beginning - Haqueqat
(Ajay Devgn). Director Gurmmeet Singh lifts the film in the second half
although he could have done better in the first half. But he compensates with
quirky and witty dialogues (Ravi Sankaran & Jasvinder Singh Bath) which
definitely deserve brownie points.
