Is this a Madhur
Bhandarkar film? Doubt it! No way can Madhur direct such a mundane film. Although
he tries to infuse a message, the film falls flat. Even the presence of Tamannah
Bhatia could not have salvaged the film if it had a theatrical release.
Babli (Bhatia who
has her Haryanvi dialect spot on) is the daughter of Gajanan Tanwar (a reliable
Saurabh Shukla) who trains bodybuilders and Ganga (Supriya Shukla). They reside
in Akola-Fatehpur Beri near Delhi. Babli has failed her tenth class exams
multiple times but on the other hand, she is very strong physically. Kukku
(adorable Sahil Vaid) loves her since childhood but Babli treats him just as a
friend. At a wedding in her village Babli meets her old school teacher’s suave
& sophisticated son Viraj (a decent Abhishek Bajaj) and falls head over
heels in love with him. She decides to
move to Delhi to be closer to him. Kukku who works as a bouncer in Tally Gully
Club gets her a job as a female bouncer in the same club.
Certain
characters in the film like Sabyasachi Chakraborty (as Saurav Dutta), Upasana
Singh (as Dolly Chaddha) and Ashwini Kalsekar (as Bobby Didi) are so wasted in
the film that one doesn’t know what they were doing in the film at the first
place. Ditto for Rajesh Khera (as Inspector Amarnath Singh).
There are certain
scenes in the film like Babli’s drunken confession and her promise to her
father which stand out. Even the scene where Babli tells Kukku that they are
only good friends is heartwarming. The rest of the film is just boring. The
comedy/fun quotient is just not there.
Take our advice
and skip this film. You’ll thank us for saving you from this bouncer!
