Howrah: Arup Roy, chairman, Board of Administrators, HMC & MIC, Dept. of Co-operation, Govt. of West Bengal inaugurated 'Haath Baralei Mutation' camp at Merlin Waterfront on June 19, Saturday, in the presence of HMC Commissioner, Dhaval Jain and other senior officials of HMC & CHH.
This unique initiative is a pioneering one to
make services citizen centric, quick and convenient and hassle-free aims at
having camps at residential complexes and later at community level will ensure
instant processing of application and granting of mutation to the applicant.
This initiative, later to be extended to payment
of property tax and other services of HMC, is being launched for the first time
in the state by any urban local body that too within days of a new Board of
Administrators under the guidance and leadership of Arup Roy and taking charge
at HMC. This will go a long way in making HMC more citizen-centric and provide
better services to its constituents.
In the inaugural speech, Roy said that with the
inspiration and guidance of Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, the WB Govt is
committed to extend their services at doorstep of every citizen. Wherein
"Duare Vaccination" drive was already inaugurated a week before
benefiting those citizens of Howrah who cannot walk, suffering from chronic
diseases or are under the category of senior citizens. This Haath Baralei Mutation
initiative is a step ahead to reach out to every citizen who is facing any issues
or willing to record their names with HMC. He further emphasized that every
resident of Howrah is committed to contribute with his/her part for the benefit
of their own locality and the collections made shall be spent for the benefit
of the citizens at large.
Dhaval Jain said the HMC is committed to provide
all services for the people and with the people. They shall extend all their
supports for the benefit and upliftment of society. This is just a start
and many more services shall reach to the doorstep either physically or online.
HMC is making necessary amendments to make the system easier and online so that
each citizen is benefited.
Tamal Ghosal, president, Credai Howrah Hooghly, said this is
a historic initiative taken by the HMC. CHH is committed and shall extend all
their support in the development and making the city clean and green. We are
expecting around 150 more flats shall be mutated flawlessly in a single day and
in a single window and at the doorstep following Covid protocols.
Satyen Sanghvi, director, Merlin Group and secretary
of Credai Howrah Hooghly welcomed all the dignitaries and congratulated the minister
for his win in the recent Assembly Elections and said the people of Howrah have
once again put their trust and faith in the minister who has selflessly
worked towards a single goal of serving the people of Howrah.
