Kolkata: Duet song recorded by famous Bangladeshi singer Sabbir Nasir and 'Sa Re Ga Ma' fame Kolkata based singer Shampa Biswas crossed one crore views recently. 'Binodini Rai' was sung in Dhamail style which originated from north-eastern Sylhet district of Northern Bangladesh. Within few days of releasing the song on April 11, 'Binodini Rai' broke all the records on social media including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Recently no Bengali song has garnered this kind of popularity. The lyrics and tune of the song have been arranged by the National Award-winning artist of Bangladesh Plavan Qureshi. At a time when the second Covid wave has affected all of us, 'Binodini Rai' comes like a ray of positivity and happiness in our minds.
Sabbir Nasir
entered the world of Bangladeshi music industry in 1997 as a vocalist for a
band called Metamorphosis. He had also worked as a guitarist with various
famous artists of Bangladesh. Sabbir took a short break returned to the world
of music after 20years. His song 'Amare Dia Dilam Tomare' is very popular in
Bangladesh. Some of his remarkable songs are 'Tumi Dome Dom', 'Poka', 'Aboltabol',
'Horsho', 'Jolo Jochona', 'Fagun Ashcche' which gained immense popularity
in Bangladesh.
Speaking on the
occasion, Shampa Biswas added, "'Binodini Rai' is another example of the
cultural amity between two countries. Even when I didn't know Plavan Qureshi
Bhai, I sang 'Indubala' to his tune and the Bangladeshi audience loved it. And
this time after getting a request from Sabbir Bhai I went to Bangladesh amidst
an uncertain situation and could not have been more proud to be associated with
this wonderful song."
Sabbir Nasir also
added, "I am very happy that 'Binodini Rai' has been appreciated by the
people of two countries. I have tried my best to present a unique song. The
success of this song proves that artists can still make people jovial with
their work and I am extremely grateful to my audience for all the
appreciation."
