Kolkata: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday recited the lines from the Indian National Anthem ‘Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, Maratha, Dravida, Utkala, Banga’ making it clear
that the TMC chief's ‘BJP is outsider’ claim doesn’t hold any water as everyone
is Indian on Indian soil.
During his speech, Modi said, “In the National Anthem, Tagore had mentioned a
few places, which clearly proves that “everyone residing here are Indians and no one is an outsider. Didi cannot call the BJP an
outsider”.
A furious Mamata Banerjee retorted that the people from other states
trying to provoke trouble before the elections are outsiders.
“These “paan chewing” and “gutka spitting” men from Uttar Pradesh and other North Indian states are the real outsiders.
They sport tilaks and come from states like Uttar Pradesh to
foment trouble in West Bengal. They can hardly speak Bengali and have an
artificial tone,” Banerjee said.
In contrast while addressing a public meeting at Contai, PM Narendra Modi said that "no Indian is an outsider in West Bengal and a son of the soil will become the Bengal CM".
Notably, along the same lines, Mamata Banerjee from a public rally in Bankura claimed that Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore is the pride of Bengal and also alleged that the BJP leaders are trying to waste the ‘glory’ of West Bengal.
