The cast and crew of Chandan Dey's new film "Pakhir Basa" met the media at the Kolkata Press Club on Wednesday, August 12, to talk about the film which will hit theatres just before Durga Puja this year.

Papiya Adhikari who plays the role of Paroma in the film said the film was very close to her heart, During her campaign for the Assembly elections so many mothers had come with tears in their eyes requesting her to provide jobs so that their children don't leave the state. The film revolves around the sad reality of parents being left behind in the basa as the pakhi leaves for greener pastures to other states or even abroad.

This is director Somnath Sen's 22nd film which has a relevant social message for the youth of the society. His words were echoed by actor Biswajit Chowdhury who plays Manomoy, said the film is a lesson for the younger generation who are so self-centred to not abandon their parents and be with them at a time when they are needed the most.
