The latest Netflix drop Desire starts with a dead body floating in a swimming pool. It is of a young swim coach (Oscar Casas), who is sexually involved with his client's sexy mamma (Ludwika Paleta). Their torrid affair and its horrible after-effects form most of this one hour forty minutes runtime erotic thriller, which ain't too bad for a one-time watch.
Plot-wise, I could draw a direct reference to our own veteran filmmaker Aruna Raje's Tum? (2004), in which Manisha Koirala has a one night stand with a much younger dude (Karan Nath) and he gets obsessed with her.
To its credit, Desire ups the ante in terms of the aesthetically shot love-making scenes and the whodunit revelation, which turned out to be someone else than whom I expected. Ludwika Paleta looks gorgeous and has pitched in a super solid performance. The handsome hunk Oscar Casas suits his role perfectly.
Recommended for erotica enthusiasts.
