Multifaceted artist Chakori Dwivedi adds another
feather to her cap as her upcoming film Ek Din gears up for its release on May
1. Known for seamlessly balancing performance and writing, she steps into a
pivotal on-screen role in the Aamir Khan Productions film, starring alongside
Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi. With her distinctive and fresh presence, Chakori
brings a unique energy to the project, which is already generating buzz as a
heartfelt and nuanced romantic drama.
In the film, Chakori essays the role of Meenu, an
observant and sharp office-goer who works alongside the lead characters and
shares a unique dynamic with her counterpart Monu—two characters conceived
almost like twins in spirit. As a colleague, Meenu is deeply aware of her
surroundings, occasionally indulging in harmless gossip, yet grounded in
sincerity and warmth. Under the direction of Sunil Pandey, the character has
been crafted with depth and nuance, steering clear of caricature and ensuring
she adds meaningfully to the film’s emotional fabric beyond surface-level
traits. Chakori’s portrayal brings an effortlessly relatable authenticity to
the role, adding layers to the film’s ensemble storytelling.
Speaking about landing the role and her experience
on the film, versatile actor Chakori Dwivedi shares, “I got this opportunity
through Faezeh Jalali, the casting director of the film, who reached out to me
while she was casting for the project. I auditioned for it, going through
several rounds before I finally got the part. I’m extremely thankful and
grateful to her, not just for this project, but because she is also someone I
consider my mentor. She has trained and taught me at drama school. My experience
working with Junaid and Sai Pallavi was also truly amazing, we had a lot of fun
on set. Junaid is incredibly intelligent, empathetic, and very collaborative as
a co-actor, which made the entire process feel seamless. Sai, on the other
hand, is such a graceful and inspiring performer, there’s so much to learn just
by observing her. Working with both of them was not only comfortable but also
creatively fulfilling. It feels like a dream come true to have worked with
Aamir Khan Productions, and I would love to collaborate with them again.”
Recalling one of her most memorable experiences
from the shoot, she further adds, “Shooting in Japan was absolutely
breathtaking. It was snowing, and dancing on the streets of Japan to a
Bollywood song like ‘Konichiwa’ was surreal. I’ve grown up watching such
moments in Hindi films, and to experience it firsthand, with locals watching
us, was truly special. I feel grateful for this film and all the experiences
that came with it.”
As Ek Din gears up for its theatrical release on
May 1, Chakori Dwivedi continues to build momentum across both acting and
writing. Wearing multiple creative hats, she seamlessly balances her journey as
an actor and writer, most recently working as a lyricist on Tu Yaa Main,
featuring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor. Her writing credits also include
acclaimed shows like Netflix’s Class and Amazon Prime Video’s Ziddi Girls. As
an actor, she has been seen in JioHotstar’s Home Shanti and Amazon Prime Video’s
Agra Affair. With a diverse and steadily evolving body of work across mediums,
Chakori is carving a distinctive space for herself as a promising creative
voice in the Hindi film and streaming landscape.
