New Delhi: Manoj Kumar Jain, Director of Bhagwan
Mahavir Deshna Foundation and Nominated Councillor, has written to the Union
Home Minister Amit Shah, requesting the issuance of necessary guidelines to
maintain peace, harmony, and law & order across the country during the
upcoming Bakra Eid festival.
In his communication, Shri Jain highlighted India’s
rich multi-religious and multicultural fabric, emphasizing the importance of
celebrating festivals with mutual respect, tolerance, and brotherhood.
Referring to the teachings of Lord Mahavir—“Ahimsa Parmo Dharma” (non-violence
is the highest virtue) and compassion towards all living beings—he called for
sensitivity and responsibility during such occasions.
He also cited the vision of Prime Minister Narendra
Modi, particularly the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka
Vishwas,” as a foundation for maintaining national unity and integrity.
Shri Jain has urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to
consider issuing the following guidelines nationwide:
* Ensure prohibition of animal sacrifice in public
places to avoid inconvenience to the general public and to respect the
sentiments of all communities.
* Maintain sensitivity during religious practices
so that no community’s sentiments are hurt.
* Enforce strict sanitation protocols for the
scientific disposal of animal remains at designated locations.
* Advise restraint on sharing photos/videos related
to animal sacrifice on social media to prevent unnecessary tensions.
* Take strict and immediate action against any
individual or group attempting to disturb communal harmony.
He expressed confidence that with effective
implementation of these measures, citizens across the country will be able to
celebrate the festival in a peaceful and harmonious environment, further
strengthening India’s tradition of unity and brotherhood.
Shri Jain has requested the Hon’ble Home Minister
to issue these directions at the earliest and ensure their strict
implementation by all state governments and administrative authorities.
