Little singing wonder Jasrin Nabiha's album was
launched at the Press Club Kolkata on March 24. The 9-year-old who is a
class IV student of DPS Newtown, loves music and maths and wants to be a
teacher when she grows up.
A student of veteran music composer Ashok
Bhadra, he noticed how talented the little girl was and
encouraged her to cut an album. She has recorded five songs like a real
professional, both as a singer and as an actress.
The album was launched at the Press Club by
veteran actress Debika Mukherjee in the presence of Bhadra, and lyricists
Priyo Chattopadhyay, Rajiv Dutta and Devanshu Chakraborty who have
written the lyrics for the album.
The videos of songs like "Kagojer nouka"
and 'O maa" directed by Sumit Das and Subrata Karjana were screened to those present for the launch.
Rajiv Dutta said that through the songs he got a
chance to revisit his childhood days.
Bhadra said: "Nowadays where do we get to hear
children taking an interest in singing. We should encourage talents like
Jasrin. She has a long way to go and with our support she will surely make
it big in this line. It's a proud moment for me that my student has launched an
album here at the Press Club."
The songs are available on the Jasrin Music YouTube
channel.
