Udaipur witnessed a defining cultural moment as
ROAR Udaipur hosted internationally acclaimed DJ Aerreo for his first-ever
performance in the city. The showcase marked ROAR’s first large-scale music
event since its soft launch on 20th December and firmly positioned the venue as
a new-age cultural destination in Udaipur.
Known globally for his genre-blending sound and
immersive, high-octane sets, DJ Aerreo’s debut performance brought a fresh,
contemporary music experience to the city. The evening saw a packed house and
an electric atmosphere, with audiences responding enthusiastically to the
curated soundscape — signalling a growing appetite in Udaipur for thoughtfully
curated, global experiences.
Commenting on the event, Mayank Soti, Founder of
ROAR, said, “Hosting DJ Aerreo for his first-ever performance in Udaipur was
very special for us. From day one, our vision with ROAR has been to build a
space that brings thoughtfully curated, world-class experiences to the city
while staying true to its spirit and its people. The response we witnessed that
night — the energy, the connection, the way the community came together and
embraced the music — reassured us that Udaipur is ready for a new, global yet rooted
cultural experience. This is just the beginning of what we want to build at
ROAR, as a space that grows with the city and its community.”
Envisioned as a space that transitions seamlessly
from a relaxed daytime bistro to a vibrant evening lounge, ROAR’s philosophy
came alive during the event. The smooth shift from a calm, conversational
ambience to a high-energy atmosphere reflected the venue’s intent to offer
versatility — a space equally suited for morning coffees, business lunches,
social evenings and celebratory nights.
At the heart of ROAR is Mayank Soti, a Udaipur
native who returned to his hometown after over two decades outside the city.
Formerly the Chief Operating Officer at ECL Finance, Edelweiss Group (till
February 2019), Mayank brings with him deep leadership experience along with a
strong emotional bond with Udaipur. His return was driven by a desire to create
a space that celebrates the city’s legendary hospitality while introducing a
refined, global outlook.
Mayank is joined by two young, dynamic partners who
bring international expertise to the project. Karan, trained in hospitality in
Switzerland with experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, adds a refined global
hospitality perspective, while Miloni, based out of New York, contributes a
deep understanding of culinary craft and contemporary global trends. Together,
the trio has shaped ROAR as a space that respects local values while aligning
with international standards.
The venue’s design language mirrors this
philosophy. Organic, raw and thoughtfully contemporary, ROAR’s interiors draw
inspiration from Udaipur’s cultural fabric, creating a melange of modern
aesthetics rooted in the city’s heritage. The focus is on authenticity — a
space that feels aspirational yet familiar.
Experience remains central to ROAR’s offering. From
soothing morning coffees and relaxed daytime conversations to evening beers,
celebratory dinners and curated bespoke events, the venue has been designed to
adapt fluidly to different moods and moments across the day.
An avid traveller who has explored over 39
countries, Mayank’s global exposure is evident in ROAR’s programming and
attention to detail. His passion for hosting and his enduring bond with Udaipur
continue to drive the vision behind the space.
Reflecting on the night, DJ Aerreo shared on social
media, “14.5 hours of travel made it to Udaipur and what a night it turned out
to be! Udaipur, you won my heart. Every minute was worth it.”
By hosting an international artist so soon after
its opening, ROAR has clearly signalled its intent — to evolve as a cultural
hub that brings world-class music, food and experiences to Udaipur. DJ Aerreo’s
debut performance not only set the tone for ROAR’s future programming but also
marked a significant step in the city’s evolving social and cultural landscape.
