Rani Mukerji strikes back with a fiercely and forceful performance in Mardaani 3. Director Abhiraj Minawala impresses by making sure that you are hooked onto the film right from frame one. No nonsense straight to the story which is in itself superb and gripping. Rani gets a mass and seeti-maar introduction. The second half is quite convenient based from the point of the leading lady and despite having many twists the impact gets worn off. But yet the film scores heavily with the tension and action.

SSP Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukerji) is asked to take charge of the high profile kidnapping of Ruhani the daughter of Sahu ( Eindraneel Bhattacharya), the ambassador to Turkey. Along with Ruhani, her friend Jhimli (who is the daughter of the ambassador’s driver) too gets abducted from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh and are taken to the hideout of the dangerous beggar mafia queen Amma (Mallika Prasad). In her quest, Shivani is joined by her special task force, another female officer Fatima Anwar (Janki Bodiwala) & Ramanujan (Prajesh Kashyap) who runs a special care unit of the rescued children from the clutches of the beggar mafia.

In her 30th year in the film industry, Rani proves that she still is and will always be a force to reckon with as an actor. She delivers a knockout performance as SSP Shivani. Janki Bodiwala as Fatima impresses in the second half of the film. Mallika Prasad is too good as the menacing Amma. But the real surprise of the film is Prajesh Kashyap as Ramanujan. He shines effectively and is terrific. Eindraneel Bhattacharya (Ambassador Sahu) is able. Jisshu U Sengupta appears in a cameo as the husband of Shivani.

Mardaani 3 complements the predecessors in the franchise with it being a hard hitting & emotional film backed by solid performances.
