DocuBay, the global documentary-streaming
platform from the IN10 Media Network, announces the release of its latest
original, Dirty Entertainers: The Business of Indian Erotica. Directed by Heena
Dsouza and produced by HumaraMovie, the documentary takes a bold, unfiltered
look into India’s underground erotica industry, a world that has long existed
in the shadows.
With OTT bans and increasing content regulation,
the film explores how the industry’s creators and performers continue to
navigate censorship, survival, and stigma. Featuring intimate conversations
with prominent names such as Shakespeare, Maya Jafar, and Rajsi Verma, Dirty
Entertainers dives deep into lives shaped by secrecy, desire, and
resilience.
Aditya Pittie, Managing Director, IN10 Media
Network, “At IN10 Media Network, the idea has always been to create
thought-provoking storytelling around topics that people often discuss in
whispers or secrecy, but rarely speak out loud. Dirty Entertainers is one such
story which are bold, compelling, and relevant, yet rarely explored on screen,
as the glamour of the entertainment industry is often spoken about, but there’s
a large, complex side to it that remains unexplored”.
Samar Khan, Chief Operating Officer, DocuBay,
“DocuBay has always explored a wide spectrum of genres from social issues to
untold human stories and Dirty Entertainers continues that journey. The film
doesn’t just explore the world of erotica; it delves into the economics behind
it and how content, commerce, and censorship intersect. It’s an unfiltered look
at an ecosystem that thrives despite being pushed to the margins, and a
reflection of the resilience that fuels it.”
Abhishek Gautam, Associate Producer, HumaraMovie,
“With Dirty Entertainers, we wanted to give a platform to some of the most
prominent artists in India’s erotica industry, who have rarely been able to
tell their side of the story. Their experiences add authenticity and depth, and
it was invaluable to capture these real-life perspectives for the documentary.
Collaborating with DocuBay has been instrumental in bringing this vision to
life with the platform’s strong global presence ensures that stories like these,
rooted in India but universally relevant, reach audiences across the
world.”
Heena Dsouza, Director, “My goal was to humanize
this space, to move beyond judgment and showcase the people who make this
industry what it is. Bringing their voices to the forefront and piecing
together the layers of this hidden ecosystem has been an eye-opening journey.”
Dirty Entertainers: The Business of Indian Erotica is now streaming exclusively
on DocuBay Originals.
