New Delhi: This year, the country’s most celebrated Lav Kush Ramlila promises to be even more special. Well known film and television actress Poonam Pandey will step into the powerful role of Mandodari, the wife of the mighty Ravan.

Announcing the news, Arjun Kumar, President of Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, said: “When we approached Poonam Pandey for this role, she instantly agreed. She shared that portraying Mandodari on stage has been her lifelong dream, fulfilled by the blessings of Lord Shri Ram. Performing live before thousands of spectators is a challenge, and she is already deeply engrossed in rehearsals to perfect her performance.”

Known for her impactful presence in films like Karma – The Journey and GST: Galti Se Sirf, as well as appearances in the iconic TV series CID, Poonam will be seen sharing the stage with popular actor Arya Babbar, who takes on the role of Ravan this year.

The grand staging of Lav Kush Ramlila will take place at the historic Red Fort Ground, New Delhi, from 22nd September to 3rd October 2025, culminating in the grand celebration of Dussehra on 2nd October.
