What happens when love stops being a safe haven and becomes a prison? When care turns into control, and affection transforms into possession? Fatol exposes the silent cracks that appear when relationships are built on possessiveness, dominance, and emotional suffocation—cracks that, if ignored, can turn into permanent scars.

An indie cinematic creation by Cinema For A Cause, in collaboration with Moumita Ghosh (Story, Script & Lead Actor) and Meyera Group, this powerful film challenges the fine line between love and control. This reality affects relationships beyond gender and stereotypes.

Shot & directed by Abhishek Ganguli, Fatol will be released on the online platform and is getting ready to reveal an unsettling truth that will make you question what love should truly feel like.

Fatol is a story of two ladies, Suranjana and Debasree, who came into contact at a certain point when both were devastated. They fell in love, created a nest sewn with love. Suranjana had a past trauma of a pathetic married life and domestic violence. Debasree also faced domestic violence, and she had to run away from her own home because she found herself attracted to women.

After staying together for 18 long years, their relationship is now in trouble.

What is the reason for every crack between relationships, be it straight, lesbian, or gay?Fatol answers the question.

The film will be screened shortly at the Wisdom Tree cafe before an appreciative audience. Before the screening, a panel discussion saw eminent personalities from films, the media, and the writer's field joining the discussion and sharing their viewpoints.

Meyera group is a hidden treasure of unidentified talents. Eminent author Moumita Ghosh has created this group with a dream that all the women, whether working or not, or retired, have some talents which they wanted to nurture but couldn't, due to many socio-economic reasons, they will now pursue their dreams, hobbies, and showcase their talents together with Meyera.

The film is an endeavour to fulfill the dream of very simple women who are acting for the first time. The men in the film also give them full support.
