A crazy hilarious thriller
Cast: Pratik Gandhi, Yami Gautam, Eijaz Khan, Kavin Dave, Pavitra Sarkar, Mushtaq Khan
OTT: Netflix
Director Rishab Seth keeps the viewers engaged right from the first frame of Dhoom Dhaam. The way he uses the humour is first-rate. The reactions of the characters are too good and this is where Rishab scores heavily. The suspense of ‘Charlie’ is established very early in the movie thus keeping the viewers guessing. Seth’s pre-climax twist in the tale lifts the film. Yes, he has taken certain cinematic liberties which do sometimes go overboard but despite that, he manages to control the film thus making it an entertaining outing with enough crazy & funny moments thrown in (credit to the story & screenplay by Aditya Dhar & Aarsh Vora).
The story is of one night of a newlywed couple who go through a harrowing crazy ride through their marriage night. An Ahmedabad-based vet Veer Poddar (Pratik Gandhi) gets married to a Mumbai girl Koyal Chadha (Yami Gautam). After the wedding, they check into a 5-star hotel for their wedding night. All of a sudden two mysterious men Harshvardhan Sathe (Eijaz Khan) and Sachin Bhide (Pavitra Sarkar) knock at their door and ask Veer where is ‘Charlie’. Despite Veer pleading ignorance, the duo takes out their gun to shoot. Koyal manages to get hold of the gun, fires at them takes off with Veer. What follows is a crazy affair with twists and turns thrown in.
Pratik Gandhi is superb and the way he expresses himself is hilarious. Yami Gautam is excellent and her comic timing is just wonderful (her reaction in the car is simply outstanding). She is literally one-up on everyone. Prateik Babbar is great as Arya in a cameo. Eijaz Khan is fantastic. The others in the cast, too, lend able support prominent amongst them are Kavin Dave (Khushwant Kapoor) and Mushtaq Khan (watchman).
A slickly made entertaining film that will keep the viewers hooked along with big smiles on their faces.
