The Fall Guy is a thank-you letter to all the stunt
performers. Stunt performers aren’t appreciated enough for what they do, and
most people don’t even know who they are. The Fall Guy
makes appreciating stunt performers its main goal and it succeeds in doing
that pretty well.
Fresh off an almost career-ending accident,
stuntman Colt Seavers (Ryan) has to track down a missing movie star, solve a
conspiracy, and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his
day job.
The film has its heart in the right place, and the screenplay is perfect, but the length makes it a little tiresome by the end though it is really fun from start to finish
The action set pieces are grand and truly “cinematic”, with excellent action choreography and stunts. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt give the best performances with Aaron Taylor-Johnson impressive as well and the jokes too work most of the time.
A commendable effort.
