After Made In Heaven 2 and Sanaa, actor Nikhil Khurana’s next is Murder Mubarak in which he has an important role. Interestingly Nikhil’s film Sanaa (which was released in the film festival) was seen by the producer and director duo Dinesh Vijan (Maddock Films) and Homi Adajania.

Nikhil narrates, "Homi Adajania and Dinesh Vijan watched me in Sanaa and liked my work. Homi sir instructed the casting director to cast me in Murder Mubarak. A few days later, I received a call from the casting director who offered me a small but impactful role, which intrigued me. The role revolves around a character who manages an orphanage and is devastated upon learning about the murder of his friend and co-caretaker. The story delves into his journey of coping with the loss and how he will take this story forward.”

Nikhil feels a great team is always instrumental in an actor’s career. He adds, "I have always aspired to be in the same team as Homi Adajania and Maddock Films. They are individuals who truly understand the craft. Every actor desires to work with acclaimed producers and directors to further develop their craft.”

Murder Mubarak is inspired by Anuja Chauhan's book 'Club You To Death'. Nikhil read a few parts of the book and felt compelled to do the film. He says, "The script was so well-crafted and was evolving at every turn. There was no doubt in my mind; that it was perfect. The book itself was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.”

The film which is currently streaming on Netflix has a great ensemble cast consisting of Karishma Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Tisca Chopra, Sara Ali Khan and Vijay Verma.

Nikhil defines his entire experience as amazing. “I shot with Sara, Vijay Verma, Pankaj Tripathi, Karisma Kapoor, and Dimple Kapadia. Working with Karisma Kapoor was particularly delightful as we had scenes together, and she was incredibly welcoming and professional. During our scene discussions, she approached the work as a true team player, dedicated to making each scene the best it could be. It was inspiring to collaborate with individuals who are driven to work hard, as it encourages you to deliver your best performance. It was indeed one of the best experiences to work with Homi Adajania and Maddock Films. It’s always been on my wish list to collaborate with the best in the business. Homi is a cool person on set, and at the same time, he knows exactly what he wants. There's no judgment from him, and he's always available to help. He expects his actors to give their best and strives to bring out the best in them. I hope to work with him on a full-length film soon.”

OTT series and film characters are more interesting to play as they are relatable and real and we have noticed that in many OTT series and films. Nikhil also echoes the same. “Roles in OTT are very interesting, and as an actor, I approach them from the same perspective. As long as the role excites you and can resonate with audiences worldwide, I believe it's a good enough reason to pursue it. Certainly, OTT platforms offer a diversity of roles, providing opportunities even for those outside the industry to enter the world of cinema. OTT can be likened to the IPL of the movie business. Working in OTT can serve as a great stepping stone to the big screen. I am very excited and looking forward to what lies ahead. Additionally, there is another show called 'Pill,' possibly releasing in April, produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. So all things lined up and God has really been kind and the journey is going well till now,” Nikhil signed off.
