'Chhoyaan', as part of the Cinema for a Cause initiative of Learning System, is a film about a world of equality and dignity for all. Based on a poem written by poet Fullora Mukhopadhyay which voices LGBTQ+ rights and tells us about the pains and challenges that people face in gay and lesbian relationships.
Shot and directed by
Abhishek Ganguli, the film reaches out with a plea to society to wake up to
accept any sexual orientation and look beyond gender bias.
Written and scripted by Fullora Mukhopadhyay, the film features Poulami Das, Saswati Biswas Rudra Mishra, Orijiet Shikdar, Soma Basu Sarkar, Moumita Ghosh, Bikash Bose and Fullora Mukhopadhyay
Chhoyaan will be
released on YouTube around February or early March.
Abhishek Ganguli has been in the film, fashion, events, and
showbiz industry for more than three decades working as a film director, documentary
maker, travel filmmaker, corporate communications expert, anchor, actor, and voice-over
artist and has worked across India.
