Fun and bittersweet

Written by: Pratik Majumdar

Pratik Majumdar’s aptly titled anthology is both fun and heartbreaking to read. All the short stories in the anthology are likable, with some even surprising you. His style of writing in the context of the stories works magnificently. The stories are full of musical references, ranging from Bob Dylan to R.D. Burman, making them a great read for any music lover. Every short story flows like a piece of music, like a Tchaikovsky composition.

Most of the stories are bittersweet and will make you think about all the missed chances in your life. The stories are realistic and sweet enough to satisfy the inner hopeless romantic personality of the reader. The stories about the murders are at times cliched but aren’t bad. They make us feel happy and sad at the same time, a feeling that we usually search for in stories and books.

The highlight is  “Orange Moon”- so heartbreaking yet giving hope.

Pratik Majumdar’s book is a book you should pick up and read if you’re looking for something that’s both sad and hopeful at the same time. It isn’t a book you will forget about anytime soon.
