Pitrashish Foundation works in Jhargram and has been engaged in programmes like Aao School Chale, Pitrashish Sathi, Pabotro Lets Talk Periods, and other such programmes. The NGO has been working in Jhargram for the last two years in areas like menstruation, and education. They distribute sanitary napkins to women and educational materials to encourage the local students to educate themselves. The NGO also provides walking sticks to senior citizens and nutritional food to lactating mothers. The NGO hopes to work in other areas of Bengal in the future.

The NGO will be hosting a grand cultural event on July 8 at EZCC from 3.30 pm onwards. Called 'Prayas-Ek Koshish' the event will see performances by specially-abled, orphaned, and rescued children along with a live performance by Subhamita Banerjee.

Thirty-five children aged between 8 years to 14 years from Jhargram will be performing at the event. Five polio-affected children from Delhi will also be sharing the stage with them and will perform on their wheelchairs.

Sujata Gupta, secretary of the foundation said, "We have been providing special training to the children in Jhargram for the past two weeks so that they can showcase their talents to the best of their ability. This is the first time we are organising such a cultural event."
