The Kashmir Files and The Kerala
Story have a lot in common, the most evident being the obnoxiously bad
filmmaking. While The Kashmir Files was Islamophobic and propagandist, this goes
one step further. There is no progress in the story because it’s so caught up
with its political agenda and so entangled in its Islamophobia that it seizes each
and every frame to convey its message of hatred, giving an exploitative feel to
the entire exercise. Having the sole aim of exploiting its female characters
and their sufferings for its political agenda The Kerala Story has no depth
with unimpressive performances throughout.
Filmmakers lack the creativity to
tell a new story, so they resort to making propagandist films or films based on
some attack on India. It’s surprising how the Censor Board cuts all the
violence in Bollywood films and allows extremely bad violence to be shown in
propagandist films such as this and The Kashmir Files.
Basically, a 2 hour 18 minutes
long rant against the Muslims, The Kerala Story is nothing but an insufferable
viewing like Agnihotri's intolerable film.
The main motive is to spread
hatred against the Muslim community because, in films like these, all the
Muslims are either connected to ISIS or are rapists, a stereotype created by
Agnihotri and now Sudipto Sen. It’s all black and white for them, nothing grey.
Muslims are portrayed to be the
worst kind of people out there and there’s absolutely no redemption for them.
They rape Hindu women, impregnate them, convert them to Islam, send them off
to Syria or wherever, and then sell them off or kill them. These films may possibly
be based on partial truths, but what’s the point of making such films, if not
to spread hatred?
