The much-anticipated trailer of Ghasjomi (Grassland) was released in Kolkata on Tuesday evening. Since its world premiere in Stuttgart, Germany last year the Bengali feature film has travelled to every corner of the world - from Australia to Bolivia to France, Belgium, England, Qatar, Oman, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, winning more than 100 awards. These numbers are astonishing and it has already made a new record as far as Bengali feature films are concerned.

The entire cast and crew of the film were present during the event. The cast includes Suvosmita Mukherjee, now famous for her lead role in ‘Harogouri Pais Hotel’ and Sanjita, the back to back-to-back winner of Best Actress Awards from Natyo Academy.

The producer of the film, Priyanka More, also a National Award winner for her previous film 'Holy Rights' said, "Ghasjomi has so far won the hearts of the people wherever it has been screened. Seeing such reactions from the audience worldwide has encouraged me, my director and others associated with the film to go for the theatrical release so that film lovers of the city can also appreciate and discuss about Ghasjomi."

Suvosmita said, "I was very young and new when I worked for the film, I knew almost nothing about acting then. There were months of rehearsals done before the actual shoot and the whole thing was done with lots of sincerity and commitment towards good work." According to her the fact that the film has won so many awards and recognitions has a lot to do with the hard work and passion that had gone into the making of it.

Sanjita said, "Acting in theatre is so very different from acting in cinema. I had to change and adapt to fit for my role in the film. She added, "There was a lot of planning and rehearsals that took place before the shooting." She was overjoyed that the film has done so well in film festivals worldwide and hoped that the audience in Kolkata would love and appreciate the film.

‘Ghasjomi’ is set to release in theatres May.
