VFS Capital Limited, a Kolkata-based leading NBFC-MFI felicitated six rural women entrepreneurs of West Bengal, to recognize their courage and power of breaking all the stereotypes and venture into the business world to alleviate poverty and lead a respectful life in society. Dinesh Kumar Khara, Chairman of the State Bank of India, felicitated the entrepreneurs at a glittering ceremony held in Kolkata on Friday.

The women entrepreneurs who were felicitated were: Raunaque Jahan Ansari, a resident of Bankra Howrah, who is into the readymade clothing business; Mala Manna, a resident of Amta, Howrah who is into the stamp ticket business;  Rumpa Dolui, a resident of Ranihati, Howrah, who is into zari work; Papiya Manna, a resident of Jujarsaha, Howrah, who is into tailoring work; Sagari Ruidas, a resident of Panpur, Howrah, who sells sarees and Chaitali Chakraborty, a resident of Bilaspur, Howrah, who sells phenyl

The event was a testament to the power of women's entrepreneurship in alleviating poverty and driving economic growth. VFS Capital has supported these women entrepreneurs in their journey by providing financial assistance and training. Their contributions have helped these women realize their dreams, contribute to the local economy's development and create employment opportunities for others.

Speaking on the occasion, Kuldip Maity, MD & CEO of VFS Capital said, "We believe the success stories of these women entrepreneurs will inspire many more women to follow their dreams of creating successful businesses and create employment opportunities in rural areas, and we at VFS Capital, remain committed to providing them with the necessary financial resources and support to continue their entrepreneurial journey."

Another highlight of the event was the launch of noted author, Tamal Bandyopadhyay's book ‘Roller Coaster: An Affair with Banking’. The special session around the launch of this book was organised in association with Jaico Publishing House.
