There is a lot of talent in eastern India but hardly any good platform for young women to showcase their talent. For this reason Miss Bonitaa 2023 was launched at the Press Cub on March 17. The beauty contest will groom and give young women from across the state a chance to compete for the coveted title of Miss Bonitaa 2023. Organized by Texvoindia, it is the brainchild of well-known choreographer Moushumi Nayak and her partner Sanju. Priya Entertainments’ Arijit Dutta, image consultant, Kuntanil Das, fashion designer Shantunu Guha Thakurta, nutritionist Dr. Shreyoshi Bhaumick Sinha,  model turned designer Paromita, model Divya Das and social worker Subhas Bose were among the guests present on the occasion.

Mousumi Nayek said the contest is not just a search for beauty but a search for true talent. “We are looking for good talent for our OTT films and we hope Miss Bonitaa 2023 will help us in that regard. We will be giving grooming sessions to the selected girls right from how to talk, walk, and dress, to their diet and presentation. The competition will see contestants participate in various rounds, including the traditional beauty pageant rounds such as ramp walk, talent, and Q&A sessions.”

Arijit Dutta said, “OTT has brought in many opportunities for local talent and I am sure this contest is a step in the right direction.”

Dr. Shreyoshi Bhaumick Sinha stressed the importance of healthy eating practices and that meals should be customized and personalised to suit individual needs.

The contest is open to young women between the ages of 18 and 35, who reside in the state and are interested in pursuing a career in the beauty industry. The winner of Miss Bonitaa 2023 will get an opportunity to get a role in short films.

The grand finale of the contest will be held on April 16 where 15 finalists will compete for the coveted title. The pageant promises to be an exciting and memorable event for all involved.
