The best thing about TJMM is how director
Luv Ranjan depicts the plot keeping in mind the youth of today. Their casual
flings, marriage, and commitment phobia are dealt with in a very subtle and
relatable manner. Though you may find resemblances with Luv’s earlier films
like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ki Tito Ki Sweety and references to real-life pairs,
here he treats the film differently with a superbly hilarious and heart-tugging
climax. And above all that you have the very dependable and charming Ranbir
Kapoor who takes the film to a different level altogether. With Shraddha Kapoor
in a very challenging role and looking very hot, TJMM is a sure-shot winner.
Mickey aka Rohan Arora (Ranbir Kapoor) is
from an affluent Delhi-based Punjabi business family who has also expanded his
family business on his own. Along with his best friend and partner Manu Dabas
(a super Anubhav Singh Bassi) they run a secret profession. They help those
people who want to break up without being branded as villains. Manu who is all
set to get married to Kinchi (Monica Chaudhry) heads off to Spain for a
sort-of-bachelor trip. Along comes Tinni aka Nisha Malhotra (Shraddha Kapoor),
Kinchi’s best friend with the three of them. Mickey falls head over heels in
love with Tinni, who is only interested in a fling with him. But when she
realizes that Mickey is genuinely and truly in love with her she gets into a
serious relationship with Mickey. The twist in the tale comes when Mickey
introduces Tinni to his family comprising his mother Renu (a loud &
brilliant Dimple Kapadia), father Ramesh (Boney Kapoor having nothing to do in
the film), his sister Minny (Hasleen Kaur leaving a mark), grandmother (an
adorable Jatinder Kaur) and his niece Sweetu (a very cute Inayat Verma).
The second half of the film has some
dramatic moments but the climax takes the cake. You cannot help but fall out of
your seats in the rib-tickling climax. Yes,
the first half drops considerably but scores again at the intermission. To top
it all Pritam’s music is also a high point. Kartik Aaryan and Nushrratt
Bharuccha (Luv Ranjan favourites) appears in fun-filled cameos.
Enjoy the film during the ‘Holi’ week.
