Shruti Sharma is an award-winning blogger and celebrity interviewer. She has received Best Blogger and Inspirational Women of India awards from the IAWA (Indian Artist Welfare Association). Her blog was also nominated for the IB Awards (Indian Blogger). She was also among the 100 influential faces of Asia.

Recently, Shruti expressed her views on the current content in the entertainment world.

Shruti believes, “The current scenario of entertainment news has changed. People no longer show interest in reading controversies and gossip. It is no wonder why Reality Shows have more TRP than other scripted content. Coming from a background where I interact with artists and a common audience, I can tell you that the audience no longer looks for controversial subjects and gossip-based news. They are more interested to know the real-life scenarios in an artist’s life.

If this wasn’t true, tell me why most celebrities are sharing their life events and daily life routine on their social media today. It is because the audience feels connected to know what their favourite star is up to in their personal life.

Moreover, a huge number of audiences want to read something that makes sense on the internet. Have you ever wondered why the viewership of motivational and inspirational stories on Facebook is millions? People need motivation and a good story that they can relate to in their life.

From my experience, if your content has an eye-catching storyline that the audience can relate to and feel connected to, you don’t need any promotions! The entertainment industry is no longer expected to deliver just controversies and gossip-based news. We need to create content per the current expectations of the audience, including content that pleases not just one particular age group but catches everyone’s interest.

Considering examples like The Kapil Sharma Show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and Comedy Circus; these shows are loved by young adults, elder citizens, and children. It is no wonder why these shows could stand and rise amidst such stiff competition.”
