A unique event was held at Priya Cinema last week. A first of its kind pet calendar for 2023 was launched by actor-turned-politician Chiranjeet Chakraborty in the presence of a host of celebrities and their four-legged pet children. Presented by Shibani Munsi Production and in association with Columbaas Digiplex the event was in memory of Newton Bhattacharjee, Paramita Munsi’s pet who passed away last year.

Pet Calender 2023 is the brainchild of screenwriter and director Paramita Munsi to showcase the bond between humans and pets on every page of the wall and table calendars. Paramita and her husband Sudip Bhattacharya, a renowned art director of the film industry, worked on this idea of the pet calendar as a tribute to the loving memories of their beloved pet Newton Bhattacharya who died last year.

From January 2023 to December 2023, every page of this calendar has images of renowned celebrities and their pets. A non-profitable effort, the fund raised by selling these calendars would be utilized to feed 300 pets including dogs and cats every month. The sterilization of 100 dogs and cats would also be undertaken and a plan for a pet cab-cum-pet-ambulance is also in place.
