Actress Leslie Tripathy was felicitated by the Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, for her contribution to cinema for acting in 14 languages, Arts, and Literature for writing a book “Because I am A Girl” inspiring youth to pursue and achieve dreams with simple tools like consistency, hard work, discipline and by relying on Self in the wonderful journey of life, for her public service and for raising awareness on mental health through her Talk Show “Leslie Show” at “the Param Veer Chakra Abdul Hamid Awards” held on September 22 as Leslie anchored the prestigious awards at Raj Bhawan, Mumbai

Leslie is a multi-lingual award-winning Indian actress, TV debater, and author of the motivational book “Because I Am A Girl”, a popular model social media Influencer based in Mumbai. Her parents are professors in English literature. Leslie hosts a talk show “Leslie Show” throwing light on mental health. Leslie has already received 8 Governor Awards for bringing accolades for her state of Odisha in debate and elocution, extempore speech, and poetry writing. This is her 9th Governor Award.

Leslie recently was bestowed on with a Title “Queen of Queens” at Panache Events.

Her career spans many award-winning films. Her choice of roles has garnered her a huge fanbase be it her powerful double role in the Chhattisgarhi film "Rangobati" or as the beautiful dream girl in Chhattisgarhi superhit film "Rangrasiya" along with top actor Padmashree Anuj Sharma, or the cute girl next door fighting for justice in her debut "Hindi film W (Being Woman)" or playing the title role of a tribal girl in serial Ekalavya. She also acted in the award-winning Hindi short film on overcoming depression “Jindagi“.
Leslie is the brand ambassador of the Women’s Hockey Team founded by Shanti Foundation in Uttar Pradesh. In her free time she teaches madrasa school girls at the YWCA, Dalit students at Ambedkar College, Wadala, Mumbai and promotes the habit of spending time with senior citizens and special children at shelter homes. Leslie is slated to be a judge for reality shows based on her ever-increasing popularity on social media. Leslie recently received Social Media Queen Awards from different portals.
