Kolkata: Indian Pest Control Association organised a three-day event to celebrate its 55th Annual Convocation 2022. Arvind Sharma, GM Secretary; Rakesh Kanungo, Vice President; Prakash Sasidharan, President, IPCA; Javed Ahmed Khan, Minister of West Bengal; Anita Mondal, Deputy Mayor Bidhannagar; Sougata Mukherjee, Director General Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Nadimul Haque, MP Rajya Sabha; and Sushil Poddar, President, CWBTA were present at the inauguration ceremony on August 25.
“Every year we
organise our annual conclave in different parts of India. Each year we invite
reputed public speakers. New inventions in pest control related to public health,
after Covid how to serve the customers better without hampering the eco-system, and how to fight against dengue are our main concerns. IPCA is not allowing any
toxic pesticides,” said Prakash Sasidharan.
Javed Ahmed Khan
said the government is focusing on the growth of the industry in the next few
years and it will increase the recruitment of professional pest control personnel.
Pest control is for industrial, commercial as well as domestic as malaria,
dengue and other diseases are spreading all over West Bengal. He welcomed all pest control organisations to invest in West Bengal.
The annual
convention was convened at the J W Marriot, Kolkata where global brands and
technical speakers of international repute presented technical sessions to
upskill and share knowledge on the latest products and methods in effective
pest management.
The three-day long event successfully wrapped up on August 27 with a cultural programme.
