Leading film production house, Pramod Films has joined hands with The Big Day to announce their forthcoming movie, ‘Palan’, to be directed by eminent National Award-winning filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly. The film will be a humble tribute to the legendary director late Mrinal Sen, on his birth centenary, next year.
The lead cast features Anjan Dutt, Mamata Shankar, Sreela Majumdar, Debapratim Dasgupta, Jisshu U Sengupta and Paoli Dam amongst others. Music- Neel Dutt. Art Direction- Tanmoy Chakraborty. Cinematography - Appu Prabhakar. The shoot for ‘Palan’ starts from March 5 and will be shot mostly in Kolkata.
Pramod Films, one of India's most prestigious film production houses started
with their debut film in 1958, It has produced some memorable classics and
blockbusters featuring some of the industry's biggest stars. Currently, Pramod
films is led by the founder's grandson, Prateek Chakravorty.
The Big Day is the brainchild of Suven Kumar Das, who started his career
with director Ravi Ojha with Ek Akasher Niche in2000 and later
in 2010 he joined as an executive producer in a renowned production house and
worked for many more films for filmmakers like Rituparno Ghosh, Sandip Ray and
Arindam Sil among others. In 2019 he launched The Big Day, and started line
production and was associated with films like Hridpindo, Srimati, Kabaddi
Kabaddi, Lukochuri, etc.
