A group of alumni from Jadavpur University, Calcutta University and the IITs have come up with a social media platform ClassRoute, a free learning app in Bengali for all, especially the underprivileged students. The app has different modules like Baithak Khana (newsfeed), Aksathe Pori (community discussion), Prostuti Porbo (question bank), Bartalap (chat within learners), etc.
With the HS examinations in mind, the group
will be catering to all 10 lakh students of the state in helping them with
their queries for the next 40 days.
Founder and CEO of ClassRoute Abhishek Biswas
said, “When there can be social media platforms for entertainment why not for
learning? Over 80 per cent don’t get access to quality education in this
country. Their desire to study will get fulfilled through ClassRoute.”
Co-founder Krishti Das added, “Eibar sobai
porbe. This is our motto behind launching this app. ClassRoute is more than an
app. It’s a social media platform which will not only provide content and
lessons to students but will also be a place where learners can interact with
each other. The exchange of ideas too will be part of the learning process.”
Classroute is also planning to come up with
apps in 14 other regional languages.
