Reena Jain's victory amidst all odds

Reena Jain has made a special name for herself as a model, anchor, fashion choreographer. Apart from this, she is an advocate, a news sub-editor, an event organizer, and is currently running a cafe. But today she shares the story of her many struggles before finally making this identity.

Born in the small town of Tirwaganj in Uttar Pradesh, she has apart from her parents, her elder sister Asha and a younger sister Lucky in her family. After four years, due to her father's job, the family shifted to Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. She did her entire schooling from Mainpuri itself. She was very fond of modelling since childhood. At that time, she used to take photos of herself in different poses with the reel camera. But her world was confined to home-school-tuitions only.

There came a big turn in her life when she landed in Jaipur to do her graduation. "I wanted to take part in a beauty contest but couldn't as I didn't have the money to pay the fees of Rs 3000 and no one was ready to help me, I stopped thinking about it but my sister did not give up. When I would be in college, she would look for modeling work for me in the newspaper. When she came to know about a modelling institute in the newspaper ad we both went there only to find out that it was a dance institute, where their dancers work in local albums. As I was good at dance since childhood I joined them. I danced in many albums, and then in 2004 I met someone there who not only me told about Miss Rajasthan 2004, but also got me entry in it without any fees.

From here the journey of my dreams started. I was selected in the top 5 for Miss Rajasthan 2004. Despite not being the winner, I got to be a part of many small and big fashion shows in Jaipur after the contest. I was paid only Rs.500 per show but I was very happy.

Meanwhile, I took admission in the law college to continue my studies. My sister didn't stop looking for good modeling work for me. And one day she saw an ad for an international jewellery shoot, which was to be held in Jaipur itself. I was selected after the screen test. I shot 3-4 times for them in Jaipur and became their fixed model. From 500 I started getting 5000 pay. Till now I had been counted among the good models of Rajasthan. Gradually I became a top model and worked for many export companies, jewellery, hair colour companies in Jaipur.

I also did shows and shoots in Delhi, Bangalore, MP, Mumbai. Slowly- Slowly my parents also started to support me. In 2007, I started hosting many big and small shows. Meanwhile, I got an offer from a company in Jaipur to choreograph a fashion show. I choreographed his shows continuously for 4 years, apart from this, I did many other shows as a fashion choreographer. my younger sister also came to Jaipur after schooling. Due to a media job she shifted to Udaipur. Both my sisters and I together made our house in Jaipur and brought my parents to Jaipur too.

After coming to Mumbai I could see that many people like me were struggling here. Here too there was no one to support. I had to start from the beginning. I did not want to become the heroine of any film. I never had this dream that I should do a film. I wanted to be a TV artist who becomes a part of people's lives in their homes. I stayed in Mumbai for two years and struggled, doing some minor things but there was no satisfaction.

In 2016, my sister got married, and I left Mumbai. I started hosting events again in Jaipur. In 2017 I started an event company in Udaipur with my younger sister Lucky. She is working in the media in Udaipur and has her own news web portal. All was going well. in 2020 the events stopped due to Corona. After this, I worked as a sub-editor for a news agency. I also started my own cafe in Udaipur in 2021. Right now, I am handling all my work from Udaipur itself.

This is my story, I understood from this that life and struggle are two sides of the same coin. We think that our life is in our control, but the truth is that we go with the flow of life, and we do not even realize it. Wherever life will take me in the future, I am ready. Because every step of life is a new battle.

Don't be afraid, don't give up, just keep moving forward. Because this is the way of life, there is victory only after defeat. Keep smiling.
