Kolkata Institute of Art Conservation, a unit of Anamika Kala Sangam Trust (AKST), Kolkata is pleased to announce a free four-month intensive training course on conservation of oil paintings as part of the AKST-Tata Trusts Art Conservation Initiative. The 4-month course (comprising 3-months training at KIAC, followed by a one-month internship at the same or another approved art conservation centre) is designed to be an intensive, hands-on training course that will equip the graduating participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify and understand deterioration of oil paintings and critically think, develop and implement preventive and remedial conservation of oil paintings following scientific methods within acceptable ethical and professional frameworks. The course dates are from September 7 to December 4. The last date of receipt of applications is August 15.
