A new branch of Disha Eye Hospitals, the largest state-of-the-art eye hospital of Eastern India, was inaugurated in Mecheda, Purba Medinipur by Prof. Dr. Saumen Kumar Mahapatra, Irrigation and Waterways minister, Govt of West Bengal. Also present on the occasion were Swami Padmananda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Contai, Sk. Sufian, Saha-Sabhadipati, Zila Parishad; Biplab Roy Choudhury MLA; Sk. Eaunush Ali, renowned Businessman, Mecheda, Dr. Debasish Bhattacharya Chairman & D, Disha Eye Hospitals and Apu Majumder, General Manager of Kolaghat Thermal Power.
This is the
17th branch of Disha Eye Hospitals, with the one in Barrackpore
opening in 1997 being the first. The branch at Mecheda will provide similar
treatment of the highest standard being followed in Barrackpore and other
branches. The Mecheda Centre will serve the people of Purba and Paschim
Medinipur and Howrah. It
will have an OPD & IPD facility with all specialties of
Ophthalmology. Specialist doctors will also be visiting from Howrah and Kolkata
hospitals of Disha.
