Kolkata: A day after Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra slammed the West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Twitter stating that OSDs are his family members, Dhankhar claimed that none of the OSDs are his relatives, nor are they from his state.
Dhankhar tweeted on Monday, “This is unfolding of “distraction strategy” to divert attention from an alarming law and order scenario."
"Would continue undeterred and with zeal to serve the people of state and vindicate my oath of office under Article 159 of the Constitution,” the Governor said.
Reacting to Moitra’s tweet, he clarified that the
“six coterminous appointee OSDs in personal staff are relatives is FACTUALLY
WRONG. OSDs are from three states and belong to four different castes. None of
them is part of a close family. Four of them are not from my caste or state.”
Meanwhile, in response to the Governor's call
yesterday, the Chief Secretary H K Dwivedi called on Dhankhar to brief him
about the law and order situation in Bengal. “Chief Secretary called on to
brief me on the alarming law and order situation post polls. As he was not
possessed of any inputs on his behalf no headway could be made. In this
situation I have urged him to update with all aspects and then update,”
Dhankhar tweeted.
Dhankhar on Sunday had summoned Dwivedi to find out what steps are being taken by the
administration to deal with the “extremely alarming” law and order situation in
post-poll Bengal, which he termed as "retributive violence".
