Shraddha Pasi Jairath's directorial “venture Chattis Aur Maina” is the result of her long and interesting journey of exploring female narratives in an unapologetic and empowering way in the industry while being behind the camera
An upcoming, strong and an
opinionated female director alumni of FTII, she refuses to conform to the
structure and claimed her much deserving emancipation with both commercial and
critically acclaimed film and shows. She visions to create content for
different sections of the society.
The plot of the show
revolves around ambitious Maina, the lead of a dance troupe, meets neighbourhood
good boy Chattis. Poles apart in real life, what happens when they start vibing
on a dating app? Live on Disney+ Hotstar, it stars Sandeepa Dhar and Vikram
Singh Chauhan in the lead “They say, you don't take a shot (in films).....you
make a shot. It's been a learning experience so far. From graduating from FTII Pune
film school to working with stalwart directors, each and every project teaches
you what to do and what not to do. Personally “Chattis aur Maina” has been very
close to me. I got an opportunity to do a lot of stuff from dance to romance to
drama to holding the scenes with a large number of actors in one frame. I met
some wonderful people in the course of this show - I think I was blessed to
have worked with such amazing people few of them will remain with me
forever"
Shraddha is constantly
involved in developing new revolutionary experimental thoughts and unique
ideas to present Indian films in International frames.
What was once a
male-dominated industry, Shraddha brings a fresh perspective with a diversity
of mind-boggling concepts. Challenging the status quo, and redefining Indian
cinema, she has worked with stalwart directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali,
Pradeep Sarkar, Vikas Bahl, Maneesh Sharma, Ram Madhvani and Yash Raj Films for
many years.
She was the assistant director in films and telly shows like Mahi Way (TV show YRF), Khotey Sikke (TV show YRF), Mujhse Fraandship Karoge (film YRF), Shudh desi Romance (film YRF), Mardaani (film YRF), Shaandaar (film, phantom), Aarya (web show, Disney + hotstar), Dhamaka - associate director (to be released soon on Netflix)\. As an independent director she worked on multiple projects like Yeh hai Aashique, Dil Buffering, F Se Fantasy, Bang Baang (Alt Balaji). As a filmmaker who is full of ideas, Shraddha aims to venture into unexplored realms of filmmaking by experimenting with new themes and subjects.
