Kolkata: Young Indians (Yi) the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Kolkata and Rotary Club of Belur have initiated a crowdfunding campaign on ImpactGuru.com with the aim to provide prosthetic limbs to physically challenged individuals. The initiative #UtheSabkeKadam aims at raising Rs. 75 lakh for making and fitting artificial legs for 3000 handicapped people around Kolkata and the rural areas of West Bengal. The larger goal is to support 10,000 individuals. Asia’s most trusted healthcare group, Apollo Hospitals, has also come forward to donate Rs. 1 for every Rs 2 received through crowdfunding. It will be executed by NGO Mahavir Seva Sadan that has impacted countless individuals and their families in fighting with different kinds of physical disabilities since 1985.

Yi on their ImpactGuru fundraiser page have written, “Every limb has to be customized and made according to the requirement of the individual. The cost of making and fitting one limb amounts to Rs. 2,500. For 3,000 people this cost sums up to Rs 75 lakh. The donation for just one artificial limb will drastically change the life of one individual and his / her family for the good. Such a huge amount for the welfare of the community will be achievable only with your help.”

Arpit Dhandhania, Young Indian Chair, says: “We have taken up this drive so that more physically challenged can gain their mobility, independence, and dignity. This will help them be self-reliant, create more opportunities for them and give them a chance to lead a more fulfilling life #AtmanirbharBharat”

Piyush Jain, Co-Founder and CEO, ImpactGuru.com, adds: “With the extension of our free fundraising options to all fundraisers, our tech-for-good platform continues to play a significant role in further accelerating all causes, including with Project #UtheSabKeKadam.
