The first hearing of the petition filed by Adv Mamta Sharma has been concluded. The case is adjourned to May 31, Monday. The bench of the Supreme Court which heard the petition was led by Justice AM Khanwilkar along with Justice Dinesh Maheshwari. The hearing was conducted through video conferencing.

The Apex Court has asked the petitioner to serve and advance copy to the respondents which include CISCE, CBSE and the Centre. The plea was filed by Adv Mamta Sharma where she demanded the cancellation of class XII board examinations. She has also requested the Supreme Court to direct the authorities to declare the results on the basis of objective methodology. Earlier, around 7000 parents also requested the supreme to cancel the examinations for class 12 amidst the pandemic.

However, the government is yet to make a final call related to the examinations and it will be declared by June 1 as per the sources.

The case will be heard again on Monday, May 31, from 11 am. "Let's all be optimistic and have faith in the Hon'ble Apex Court of India, " Adv Mamta Sharma tweeted after the first hearing concluded.
