Dinhata: Lashing out at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for suggesting that she fight from another seat, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she will win from Nandigram with a huge margin. She also hit at the PM, saying she does not need his “suggestion” to contest from any other seat.
The Prime Minister on Thursday had said that Mamata Banerjee should clarify
the “rumours” that she was going to file her nomination for another seat going
to the polls in the last phase.
“I am not your party's member that you will suggest that I contest from
another seat. I have contested from Nandigram and will win from there,” she said
at an election rally in Dinhata, Coochbehar district, in North Bengal on Friday.
The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, also claimed on Friday that "when
Mamata Didi understood yesterday that she will be defeated from Nandigram, her
advisor has suggested that she fight from another seat. But Mamata Banerjee
will never fight from North Bengal as she has neglected this region.”
He added that “Mamata Didi is losing in Nandigram and the BJP will win
in 50 seats out of 60 seats that went to polls in first two phases of West
Bengal assembly election.”
