The auditorium of the YMCA Chowringhee branch was the venue for the trailer and music launch of Bengali feature film "Agomoni" on July 3. Made under the illustrious banner of Iresh Boral Films, the story, screenplay, dialogue is by Iresh Boral who has also directed and produced the film.
"Agomoni" revolves around the aspirations and frustration of Sahadev, a poor young rustic artist and his relentless fight against the villagers' deep-rooted faith in superstitions and casteism.
The chief guest at the well-attended event was renowned distributor and producer Krishna Narayan Daga along with a host of eminent film personalities like EIMPA president Ratan Saha who is also the brother of Tripura CM Manik Saha, Bimal De, Priyolal Roy Chowdhury, singers Rooplekha Chatterjee and Sairi Das along with the cast and crew of the film.
Iresh Boral, who honed his directorial skills under renowned filmmaker Prakash Mehra in Bombay, spoke about the many difficulties he had to face to bring his vision to fruition on screen. He hoped that his film would help dispel myths which divided society on communal grounds.
The film is set to hit the theatres soon.
