Sunday, April 19 saw the premiere of Sanjay Mishra's short film "After Hours" with the cast and crew of the film. Held at the Ballygunge residence of the film's writer Pratik Majumdar, veteran filmmakers Abhijit Guha and Ashoke Viswanathan were also present along with the stars of the film Tathagatha Chowdhury and Komal Dey, apart from Phillips family (Althea, Adrian and Samar) in whose apartment the film was shot. The screening was followed by lunch and adda.
The 9-minute film tackled the subject of
sexual exploitation in the workplace, a relevant issue in today's competitive
world. In the guise of giving jobs and promotions. bosses often take advantage
of vulnerable women desperate to make ends meet.
While Ashoke Viswanathan found the film
"very tight and crisp" and liked the close angle shots, Abhijit Guha
said "After Hours" was a "very mature" take on
workplace harassment and exploitation. He also praised Sanjay
Mishra's direction.
"After Hours" stars Tathagatha Chowdhury
of Theatrican and Komal Dey and is produced by BIndiya Majumdar and Payal
Mishra.
